Paper detection sensors are design for maintain free operation. However, on rare occasions the sensors may become blocked by paper dust causing the motor to run even if there is no paper present.

Please turn off and unplug your shredder, and locate auto-start infrared sensor. Dip cotton swap in rubbing alcohol, use it wipe away any cove on cap of sensors.
